Artist & author Patricia Cori about her work One wonders what it is that triggers the dreaming mind of a creative artist to wake up one morning with the idea and determination to delve into a new, untried expanse of self- expression, with no training, education or experience whatsoever . . . and to then simply leap into it, pulling from raw talent she never knew she possessed? And then, how do the artistic fruits of that wondrous tree that is the conscious mind, expressed through various media, receive almost instantaneous accolades and success from established voices and audiences worldwide?

We can only perceive such a calling as a remarkable gift to be celebrated and explored. It is a mystery how some people possess the innate ability just to dive into an unexplored territory that can be no less challenging than the open ocean, with all its hidden mysteries, currents and incredible colors and forms, only to emerge, almost immediately, as a recognized talent in that milieu. What is the source of that incredible flow? Is it buried in the DNA, somehow? Somewhere?

Patricia Cori shares: “I am blessed to consider myself one of these people. As a clairvoyant and spiritualist, I see mystical visions in my mind, some prophetic, mostly otherworldly. Supernatural. I have been blessed with the ability to express them in prose and lately – through what I call my supernatural artworks. This happened spontaneously, without years of study and the training that define so many others, manifesting my passion for beauty and light through brushes and paints."

It has been a rich, creative life, proven through decades of visionary works that constitute fourteen published books, seven full-feature screenplays (one in pre-production) and now, through my newfound passion as a visual artist, over 180 paintings – 130 of which sold before the canvas was even dry! These I produced in just two years now: from the moment I woke up, and my guides said “You need to paint!” Without an idea how to approach it, I went right out and bought some paints, a few canvases, some brushes and went right to it, exploring this new and exciting vehicle of expression. Later that day I completed my first work of art—one that sold within hours. From that moment on, I have been painting at a feverish pitch, as if possessed by some ancient calling that has been awakened in my soul.

And it certainly appears that that is the case. In 1997, I had an out-of-body experience during a sacred journey in mystical England, whereby I saw herself floating above the Earth, flying through a galaxy or two. Upon my return home, I woke up at 4:00 in the morning and began writing my first channeled book, The Cosmos of Soul, which launched a successful writing career of what has been penned “heroic authorship” by peers and media. The literary journey that followed spans over two decades and several best sellers – released in 22 foreign language versions.

I work with spirits, animal guides and souls traversing other dimensions and these almost paint themselves into my work, utilizing my hands as the conduit. People feel these energies in immense ways and speak of how the souls of so many light beings step off the canvas and speak to their hearts and souls. They transmit their journey, through paints, through modeling media that I use to create the field into which energy is expressed as motion and living energy transmissions. I think of it as “living art.”

Penetrating stares of spirit animals that appear out of dark and mysterious snow-filled forests gaze deep into the soul of unknown observers. Surrealistic landscapes between the dimensions invite viewers to challenge their own perception of reality. Textures, depths, light and dark intertwine in multidimensional landscapes that are sourced from my connection to other realms, as I walk between the worlds.

My mission in all my work is to bring meaning to the life experience, and poetry to the soul. I refuse to be locked into any defined genre, preferring to experiment wherever the imagination takes me, and my soul takes flight. Some people believe we draw from past-life talents and experiences. Who knows? I ask no questions of where it comes from, or why, and how I can paint these works of art without ever having been taught to hold a brush. Whether through the poetic word, or a screenplay that paints the story that becomes a film . . . or colors on a vibrant canvas, I paint from the rich library of my life experience, a vivid imagination, and with the light of guides who inspire and move me.

I don’t know how I do it. I just let the spirit and the love of light – all the colors of my world and worlds beyond – pour through these hands.”

And “pour through” they do, indeed.
